The 2020 Eastern Band Camp takes place at Eastern High School. These two weeks of rehearsals are some of the most important of the season. We have already spent about $4000 on this year's show, which will be written for the exact number of students that sign up in June. No one sits on the bench in marching band -- EVERYONE has an important role. Here are some important pieces of information to set yourself up for a successful week:
- Rehearsals take place Monday-Thursday for the two weeks of July 20-23 and 27-30. Morning rehearsals start each day at 7:30 a.m. Students should plan to arrive at Eastern High School between 7:10-7:30 a.m. Enter through Door #10 by the PAC. Pit rehearsals start at 2:30 p.m. most days. Pit members should arrive between 2:10-2:25 p.m.
- Though our original intent was to charge a $100 marching band fee, we are waiving it due to Covid-19. We would appreciate a donation to help us pay season expenses. There is also an expectation that parents or students from every band family work shifts in the concession stand to cover the costs of our season.
- Students should bring the following items: Instrument, Music, Water (in a LABELED water bottle), Sunscreen, 3-ring binder that can be carried over the shoulder. Students should come dressed to rehearse outside at school. A t-shirt and shorts are very appropriate. Students should wear tennis shoes to every rehearsal. Absolutely NO sandals or flip-flops! Basketball shoes or shoes with little ankle support are highly discouraged.
